OMG I am so excited about this. I was dubious about the casting when I heard about it, but man does it look spot on.

Edie Beale is one of my all-time favorites. Idol may be too strong a word, but I see shades of the craziest parts of my family in the Beale family.

today i like...

"Under the Same Moon." I seriously cried from start to finish, and basically sobbed at the end. It was just incredibly beautiful and heartfelt. It's the story of a little boy in Mexico who crosses the border on a mission to be reunited with his mother, who has been working in the U.S. for four years, trying to save up enough money to bring him to L.A. The little boy is so cute and courageous and such a good little actor, I just want to hug him every time I see him.

speaking of things I never thought I would see again in my lifetime, here are three of my all-time favorite Sesame Street clips that my mom and I talk about all the time.

current excitement

This mini-movie, "Hotel Chevalier," is available for download at iTunes. It's very good and I have a hunch I probably liked that 15 minutes more than I'll like the 2 hours of The Darjeeling Limited. I love all the yellow; I'm in a very yellow phase. Love Wes Anderson's shooting style and dialogue so much. Always understated but stylish.



Sean and I saw "The Kingdom" this weekend and I'm firmly resolved that Peter Berg, the director, could put that haunting guitar music over anything and I'd cry like a baby. He used the same band that scores "Friday Night Lights" and I swear, gets me every time.
